SUPPORTING A LEANGREEN® VALUE STREAM High performance non-oil chemistry leads to a lean and green value stream. IRMCO FLUIDS® metalforming films are high performance, environmentally sound solutions that support lean and green manufacturing through reduced time, chemicals, water, energy and environmental impact.
METALFORMING - TOOLING Because of an ability to protect tooling in a thin film regime, 50% less product is used. Excess application waste and housekeeping burden is eliminated. High performance film barrier clings to critical surfaces under high frictional heat conditions, reducing die polishing down-time an average of 25%.
WELDING - ASSEMBLY Oil-free surfaces provide an improved condition for welding and assembly. Studies using MIG, TIG, and resistance welding techniques have proven that in some cases welding can be achieved without prior washing*. Weld rejects due to lubricant caused porosity and carbon are significantly reduced.
CLEANING - PAINTING - DISPOSAL Removal with 110º plain water first stage or mild alkaline cleaner, reduces chemical, water volume and energy use up to 75%. Cleaning and pre-treatment chemicals perform more efficiently and last longer between system clean-outs. Washer disposal is reduced up to 75%. Paint rejects caused by oil boil-out and cratering are eliminated.
ENVIRONMENT IRMCO technology has the lowest aquatic toxicity. Treatment costs, volume, and liability are reduced up to 75%. To date IRMCO has eliminated over 10 million gallons of oil waste on our planet.

See IRMCO PAG (Product Application Guide). Due to variability among metal grades, compatibility should be evaluated on-site.
Use concentrate product as supplied. Dilution is not appropriate.
Not applicable.
IRMCO® APPLICATION HARDWARE SYSTEM
IRMCO recommends a mild alkaline wash at a pH range of 7.0-10.0. The pH should not exceed 11.0 (alkaline) or be lower than 6.0 (acidic), a temperature between 110ºF/43C -120ºF/49C, not to exceed 150ºF/65.5C.
Use water-based cleaner such as IRMCO 980-819 Cleaner-Rust Inhibitor
Equipment should be painted with alkaline resistant epoxy paint such as Tile Clad II (B62W101) from Sherwin-Williams Co. or Devran 250 from Devoe Coatings Co.
Container should be stored tightly closed and indoors at or near room temperature, approximately 68°F (20°C).
Follow applicable regulations.
See IRMCO OEM Approvals list.
See IRMCO MSDS and PAG for compliance information regarding any export limitations set by Canadian DSL, European EINECS, or Australian AICS lists.
QUANTIFIABLE DIFFERENCE Testing at Ohio State’s Center For Precision Forming (CFPF) concluded that IRMCO’s chemistry increases metal stretch 65 - 100% greater than four of the most widely used metalforming oils. As shown below, IRMCO was also the top performer in all other critical manufacturing areas.
*IRMCO GEL® products have been used extensively throughout the world in a variety of manufacturing and production applications. It is the responsibility of users of IRMCO products to meet the component surface quality, process compatibility or cleanliness requirements of their customers. Given the complexity and variety of users applications and processes, IRMCO cannot predict all user conditions and results. If surface quality, process compatibility or cleanliness is a user concern, then IRMCO recommends removing/cleaning off the IRMCO product film from the components before final assembly and distribution of such components. User assumes all risk and liabilities associated with the products used.
